BEN FOX is a composer for film & television, guitarist, songwriter, and music producer. In 2015 he was one of three composers to graduate from the Canadian Film Centre's Slaight Music Residency, chaired by Oscar-winning composer Mychael Danna.
An alumnus of the Canadian Children's Opera Company, Fox studied violin and guitar before turning his attention to rock and pop music. Over a six-year career as songwriter, guitarist, and frontman of Toronto rock band Dinosaur Bones, Fox has toured internationally, sharing the stage with a long list of artists like Broken Social Scene, Arkells, and City & Colour. Dinosaur Bones’ latest album Shaky Dream (Dine Alone Records) was produced by Grammy Award-winning producer John Congleton (Modest Mouse, Erykah Badu).
As a multi-instrumentalist with a passion for innovative music production, Ben Fox brings a modern sensibility to film composition. His work has been featured in films selected for the Toronto International Film Festival, Tribeca Film Festival, Busan Film Festival, Vancouver International Film Festival, and Slamdance Film Festival, among others. Recent credits include CBC television series Four In The Morning, as well as feature films Suck It Up (dir. Jordan Canning, Slamdance 2017), and Never Steady, Never Still (dir. Kathleen Hepburn) which premiered at TIFF 2017.
