BEN FOX is a guitarist, music producer, and Canadian Screen Award-nominated composer for film & television.  In 2015 he was one of three composer graduates from the Canadian Film Centre's Slaight Music Residency, chaired by Oscar-winning composer Mychael Danna.

An alumnus of the Canadian Children's Opera Company, Fox studied violin and guitar before turning his attention to rock and pop music.  Over six-years as songwriter, guitarist, and frontman of Toronto rock band Dinosaur Bones, Fox has toured internationally, sharing the stage with a long list of artists like Broken Social Scene and Arkells.  Dinosaur Bones’ last album Shaky Dream (Dine Alone Records) was produced by Grammy Award-winning producer John Congleton (St. Vincent, Modest Mouse).

As a multi-instrumentalist with a passion for innovative music production, Fox brings a modern sensibility to film composition.  His work has been featured in films selected for the Toronto International Film Festival, Tribeca Film Festival, Busan Film Festival, Vancouver International Film Festival, and Slamdance Film Festival, among others.  Recent credits include television series 'Four In The Morning' (CBC), CSA-nominated documentary ‘Babe, I Hate To Go’ (dir. Andrew Moir, HotDocs 2017), CSA-winning documentary ‘Take A Walk On The Wildside’ (dir. Lisa Rideout, HotDocs 2017), and feature film ‘Suck It Up’ (dir. Jordan Canning, Slamdance 2017). Fox’s score for feature film 'Never Steady, Never Still' (dir. Kathleen Hepburn, TIFF 2017) earned him a nomination for Best Original Score at the 2018 Canadian Screen Awards.
